Here are just a few notes from our Women of Destiny Bible study in Ephesians 1
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God: Will of God– God’s purpose; God’s heart desire; a laying out beforehand like a blueprint. It was for God’s purpose that Paul was chosen as an apostle to the church and as a result, Paul was in submission to the desire of God’s heart. Just as God had a purpose for Paul he has one for you too.
In verse 3 we read that we are blessed with every spiritual blessing, this is not found in the OT or any of the gospels, it is an “after Pentecost” word. When we receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit we have the divine benefit of spiritual blessings.
God not only had a purpose or desire for us but had chosen us before the foundation of the world. We have been divinely chosen by the creator of the world to fulfill His heart’s desire for our lives.
Verse 7 says we have redemption through His blood. Redemption– freely released from sin. We (Christians) have been freely released from our sins once we repent and are free to fulfill God’s will.
Now that we are His we need to seek wisdom- deep understanding, a divine gift. knowledge – a full knowledge & understanding of divine things in God. Revelation – Removal of the veil of ignorance.
